TradeZella Alternative for Prop Firm Traders: Proplysis vs TradeZella

The best TradeZella alternative for a prop firm trader is Proplysis if your firm is one of the 11 we list and you are buying a challenge anyway, because the dashboard is then free. TradeZella is the better pick if you want backtesting, trade replay, stocks and options, or a firm we do not list.

Proplysis and TradeZella both journal trades and both track prop firm rules, so the gap is narrower than most comparison pages suggest. TradeZella costs $35, $59 or $99 a month on monthly billing, has no free plan, and includes its PropFirm Sync dashboard on every plan. Proplysis costs nothing when you buy your challenge through its link or code, at the same price as buying direct, because the firm pays Proplysis a commission, and each purchase covers one account. Proplysis loads each program's rules from its own firm database and sends drawdown and daily loss alerts to an in-app bell and Telegram. TradeZella fills in rules for the firms it supports, lets you type in the rest, and lists 500+ broker and prop firm integrations. It also has backtesting, tick-by-tick trade replay and courses, and Proplysis has none of those three. Prices checked on TradeZella's own pages on 4 November 2026.

We build Proplysis, so read this as a vendor's comparison. Every TradeZella fact below comes from TradeZella's own site, is linked, and was checked on 4 November 2026. Where a TradeZella page does not say something, we say that rather than assume the answer is no.

Is there a free TradeZella alternative?

Yes, with a condition. Proplysis is free with a challenge bought through Proplysis, at the same price as buying direct. It is not a free plan you can sign up to and keep with no purchase.

TradeZella's own pricing post says it "does not currently offer a free plan". Its pricing page lists three plans, and annual billing saves 25%.

$891

TradeZella Ultra, per year

$531

TradeZella Pro, per year

$315

TradeZella Essential, per year

$0

Proplysis, with a challenge bought through us

Those are annual billing prices from TradeZella's pricing page, checked 4 November 2026. Proplysis is $0 only with a challenge bought through its link or code.

The condition has three parts, and each one can rule you out:

  • You buy through us, one account at a time. Only verified users can use the dashboard. You verify by buying through our link or code and forwarding the order confirmation. Each purchase opens one account slot, and the funded account moves into that same slot when you pass. A challenge you bought direct cannot be tracked.
  • Your firm is listed. We list 11 firms as of 4 November 2026, some with separate futures and forex markets. Topstep, Apex and Tradeify are not among them.
  • You keep an account active. The dashboard needs at least one active account in evaluation, passed, funded or live stage. If every account has failed, it locks until you have an active one again.
Diagram of who pays each journal: the trader pays TradeZella a plan, while the firm pays Proplysis a commission on a challenge

The two prices come from two business models. You pay TradeZella directly. The firm pays Proplysis a referral fee when you buy through us, which is why the dashboard costs you nothing. It also means we earn more when you buy a challenge, so weigh our firm suggestions with that in mind.

Does TradeZella track prop firm rules?

Yes. TradeZella's PropFirm Sync tracks "daily loss limits and max drawdown in real time", plus consistency rules, and every plan includes it. Any comparison calling TradeZella a general journal with no prop features is out of date.

The difference is where the rules come from. In TradeZella's setup guide, you search for your firm. If it is supported, you pick the challenge and "the rules will be automatically filled in". If not, you type the firm name and enter the rules yourself. The article does not list which firms are supported. The PropFirm Sync page names "TopStep, Apex, Tradeify, and more". Typed rules are also how you would track a firm nobody has modeled, which is a real advantage.

Proplysis has no typing step, and also no fallback. Rules for your program come from our firm database, so a firm we have not added cannot be tracked at all. Each program keeps its own limits. The table below reads the live database, so it updates when a firm's rule changes, and a limit we have no source for reads "Not stated" instead of a guess:

Beyond the basics, Proplysis tracks static and trailing drawdown floors, the firm's daily reset time and timezone, consistency, minimum trading days, the Buffer zone, max contracts, inactivity, weekend holding, and hedging across accounts. The rule tracker sends bell and Telegram alerts as you approach or breach your drawdown floor or daily loss limit. Consistency and minimum trading days are shown live but do not trigger alerts.

TradeZella's pages describe on-screen "visual indicators" and AI-powered weekly reports with risk alerts for funded accounts. They do not state how real-time alerts are delivered, so we are not claiming there are none.

Which platforms does each one connect to?

Proplysis syncs from seven platforms: Tradovate, cTrader, TradeLocker, Match-Trader, DXtrade, MetaTrader 5 and Rithmic. There is no file import today.

TradeZella's integrations page is far wider, at 500+ broker and prop firm integrations by its count, including MetaTrader 4, NinjaTrader, Interactive Brokers and Schwab. It covers six of the same seven with Auto Sync. The exception is Match-Trader, which it marks as File Upload, while Proplysis syncs Match-Trader directly.

If you are switching, history matters more than the platform count, and this is the honest weak spot:

  • Your TradeZella history does not come across. Proplysis has no file import, so old trades stay in TradeZella.
  • Some platforms start on the day you connect. cTrader, TradeLocker, Match-Trader and DXtrade sync forward only. Tradovate, Rithmic and MetaTrader 5 also bring in past trades, up to a year on Tradovate.

How is sharing a trade different?

Both let you share a trade by link. TradeZella's Share button creates a link where others "can replay the trade, not just view a static chart". Its Spaces feature shares your journal with mentors or trading groups. If you want a mentor to work through your trades, that is the stronger setup.

Proplysis is built for showing the reasoning and proving it is real. A Trade Breakdown turns one trade into a public page anyone can read without logging in.

The chapters of a Proplysis Trade Breakdown, from plan to lesson, ending in a public verified link

You can also share a whole day or week as a card with its own link. Each shared page shows a Verified badge and whether its data was Verified, Imported or Self-set, naming the platform. On share cards, dollar amounts are hidden by default. Account numbers are always masked, and you can revoke a link at any time.

Where is TradeZella the stronger choice?

In several places, and if any of these is why you use a journal, stay with it:

  • Backtesting. It tests strategies against historical market data, with automated AI runs on Pro and Ultra. Proplysis does not backtest.
  • Trade replay. It replays trades tick by tick on the Pro and Ultra plans. Proplysis has no replay.
  • Learning. Zella University offers structured courses and playbooks. Proplysis has articles, not courses.
  • Markets beyond prop accounts. Its integrations cover stocks, options, forex, futures and crypto brokers. Proplysis is built for prop firm accounts.
  • Fee and payout money tracking. PropFirm Sync can track evaluation fees, activation charges, resets and payouts through a Plaid bank connection, or by hand. Proplysis has no bank connection.
  • AI. Zella AI is included on all plans, with monthly credits.
  • Any firm. You can track a firm by typing its rules in. Proplysis only covers firms in its database.
  • Accounts you already hold. TradeZella's Pro plan covers up to 50 accounts for one price, and Ultra is unlimited. On Proplysis, every account needs its own purchase through us, so accounts you bought direct stay out.

Should you switch from TradeZella to Proplysis?

Switch if your firm is listed, you are buying a challenge anyway, and what you want from a journal is prop rule tracking, alerts, and trade reviews you can share. If that is you, compare your firm's rules and offers first, then see what the journal does.

You can't move everything across at once. Accounts you already hold stay where they are, because a slot only comes from a new purchase through us. In practice, you would start with your next challenge and keep TradeZella for the rest.

Decision flow for choosing between TradeZella and Proplysis based on your firm, your tools and your next challenge

If you do switch, start with one challenge and keep both running until you know what you miss:

Moving to Proplysis while keeping TradeZella running
  1. Check your firm is listed

Open /firms and find your firm and program.

  2. Buy your next challenge through our link or code

    Same price as buying direct.

  3. Forward the order confirmation

That verifies you and opens one account slot for this challenge.

  4. Connect the account

Trades start syncing. Past trades come in on Tradovate, Rithmic and MetaTrader 5 only.

  5. Run both through one challenge

Keep TradeZella until you know whether you miss replay or backtesting. Your old history stays there.

FAQ

Is TradeZella free?

No. TradeZella says it does not currently offer a free plan. Plans start at $35 a month, or $315 a year on annual billing, as checked on 4 November 2026.

Can Proplysis track a challenge I bought direct?

No. Only verified users can use the dashboard, and each purchase through our link or code opens one account slot. A challenge bought direct has no slot, so it cannot be tracked here.

Can I import my TradeZella history into Proplysis?

No. Proplysis has no file import today, so your history stays in TradeZella. Tradovate, Rithmic and MetaTrader 5 connections do bring in past trades from the platform itself.

Does Proplysis work with Topstep or Apex?

No. Neither is among the 11 firms we list as of 4 November 2026, so TradeZella is the better fit if you trade there.

Do I pay more for a challenge bought through Proplysis?

No. You pay the same price as buying direct, and the firm pays us the commission. Check the firm's page for any live discount.
